Pond Workshop

Pond Workshop (2025)

The pond workshop was delivered by our dedicated volunteers and provided residents with a practical introduction to creating and maintaining wildlife‑friendly garden ponds. Participants were guided through key considerations such as choosing an appropriate location, suitable depths, and selecting native aquatic plants that support a healthy ecosystem. Volunteers demonstrated effective construction techniques and explained how ponds can offer vital habitat for amphibians, insects and birds. Attendees also learned about maintaining water quality and encouraging natural balance without excessive intervention. By the end of the session, participants had gained the confidence to design or enhance their own ponds, contributing to a growing network of nature‑rich spaces across the community and strengthening local interest in wildlife‑friendly gardening and habitat creation.
